At the early age of 11, his roots for Electronic Music start to grow with interest for rising DJs like Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk, Tiesto and opening a new music world & interest for him. Eventually discovering many musical genres, Tocuma eventually settles for EDM and its many sub-genres including Trap, Twerk, Dubstep and Bounce.

After entering his late teen years and pursuing a hard membership to the mainstream DJ scene in Costa Rica, Tocuma lands his first gig in June 2009 after a friend invites him to DJ. Finally he realizes DJing is his thing and starts growing from a sporadic party every month to having pretty much a full agenda by 2010 playing in Costa Rica's most important parties, ranging from private, open-bar, graduation, sweet-sixteen & farewell bashes and Costa Rica's finest & best clubs such as Luxe, Rapsodia, Club Vertigo, Home, Tao, Oblique, Blu, be., Dolce, Prive, Aura, 1/4 Lounge, Rouge etc. and even performing as an opening DJ for several National & International Artists such as Afrojack, Steve Aoki, Sebastian Ingrosso, The Chainsmokers, Quintino, Lil' Jon, Joey Montana, Michael Brun among many others as well as events for well-known brands such as Marlboro, Coca Cola, Grey Goose, Ketel One, Smirnoff, Bacardi, Jaggermeiter, Kool, Imperial, Heineken, Red Bull, Alcatel, Dunhill, Samsung and many, many more.

By 2015 Tocuma has made numerous appearances in clubs all around Costa Rica with his new visual show which combines real-time, custom visuals along with whatever he is spinning, being the first DJ in the country to actually combine music & real-time, synced visuals with lyrics and other relevant images.

​

Mainly now known for his EDM skills, Tocuma still maintains the highest respect as one of Costa Rica’s open-format DJs and it is not rare to catch him spinning at the hottest clubs and parties in the Central American country plus frequently featured in media outlets all over Costa Rica.
